Excited to share our new video for Beats today!
Ft archival footage from Ken Kesey’s Merry Pranksters and the “mad one” (as characterized by Jack Kerouac in On the Road) Neal Cassady driving the bus in 1964 known as “Furthur.” The bus trips facilitated lsd trips across the land to expand consciousness (as documented in Tom Wolfe’s “The Electric Kool-aid Acid Test” which I read a few years back).
Beats celebrates an abandonment of conformity and perceived expectations. The lyrics are from the heart of the Beat generation classic On the Road, expressed also by Ms. Binge’s other favorite author Nikos Kazantzakis’ in Zorba the Greek: “A man needs a little madness or else – he never dares cut the rope and be free.”
Thank YOU for listening!!
